Sign Them Up for Our Silversmithing Youth Classes!
For kids and teens who love to create, our youth silversmithing classes offer an exciting, hands-on introduction to the world of metalwork and jewellery design. These engaging workshops are designed to build skills, spark imagination, and nurture confidence—all in a safe, supervised environment.
Throughout the course, students will learn how to work with both copper and silver, exploring a range of traditional techniques used by professional jewellers. They’ll gain experience in ring making, learning how to measure, cut, form, solder, and finish their own wearable pieces.
We’ll also dive into bezel setting gemstones, where students will create a custom setting to securely hold a stone in place—teaching both patience and precision.
Another highlight of the program is sand casting, a fun and accessible way to explore metal casting. Kids will learn how to create a mold using sand, then melt and pour molten metal into it to form unique textured pieces, often incorporating found objects or nature-inspired designs.
Just as important as the creative techniques are the foundational skills: students will be taught how to safely handle tools and fire, including proper use of torches, hammers, saws, files, and polishing equipment. Emphasis is placed on safety, focus, and respect for the materials and tools, giving young artists a strong grounding in responsible studio practices.
Whether they’re new to jewellery making or already love crafting, your child will leave with finished pieces, new technical skills, and a real sense of accomplishment. It's an inspiring and enriching way to spend the winter—learning, creating, and having fun!

All Materials Included
Ages 12+ - kids must be able to work independently and will be using torches and some power tools with guidance of our instructor.
Please bring a packed lunch and snacks.
