Bedrock Studios carries a wide selection of raw Brazilian soapstone in beautiful green and brown tones, perfect for all your carving needs.

Brazilian soapstone has the widest color range in the world and is reliably soft and easy to carve, making it ideal for both beginners and experienced carvers. Our Brazilian soapstone is consistently asbestos-free—we continually test our material and can provide the latest test reports upon request.

In its raw form, soapstone appears a dusty grey-white. The true color is revealed as the carving is shaped and sanded, and truly comes to life once oil or wax is applied to the surface—often the most exciting part of the soapstone carving experience! Because the final color develops during finishing, we cannot select an exact shade in advance, but we can let you know whether the stone will finish in green or brown tones.

For larger pieces or specific sizes, please contact the store—stones up to 2,500 lbs are available in-store. We also carry a variety of off cuts from Rubble Road Soapstone kits in store only at a discounted price.
