Silversmithing Level 1

What you will Learn:

 

Explore the craft of sterling silver or copper jewelry in this six-week silversmithing course held in Edmonton. Designed for complete beginners as well as those wanting to brush up on foundational skills, this engaging and hands-on class offers a practical introduction to working with silver in a studio setting.

Led by a skilled instructor, students will be guided through core metalsmithing techniques such as sawing, soldering, shaping, filing, and connecting components. You’ll gain experience creating rings and chains, polishing finished pieces, and learning the basics of stone setting. Clear demonstrations and step-by-step instruction ensure you can follow along with confidence as your skills develop.

Creativity is encouraged throughout the course, giving you the freedom to design jewelry that reflects your own aesthetic. With a small group size, you’ll receive personalized feedback and support while working at your own pace in a welcoming, low-pressure environment.

At the end of the six weeks, you’ll leave with handcrafted sterling silver pieces, along with the skills and confidence to continue making jewelry on your own. What to bring

All tools and equipment are provided  however students will purchase metals at the beginning of each class. Projects can cost as little as $10 or more depending upon materials chosen. We offer a variety of copper, sterling silver and gemstones to meet every budget. Each student will have access to their own set of hand tools, bench and flexshaft.

Session repeats

Silversmithing Level 1 -  6 Week Runs once a week for 6 weeks. 6:30-9:30pm

Silversmithing Level 1 - 3 Day Intensive Runs 3 days in a row 10am-4pm

Both courses offer 18 hours of instruction.
