In this class, students will learn how to use cuttlefish bone to cast a fish shaped pendant with a gemstone eye. This method of casting is one of the most ancient casting methods.
Students will learn how to carve the material and how to melt metal in order to create a fun and beautifully textured piece of jewelry. You will also learn how to keep the gemstone that will be the fish's eye in place while you pour the melted metal into the carved space. This class is a fun introduction to metalsmithing and is beginner level friendly.
