What  you will Learn in Lost Wax Casting:

Explore the sculptural side of jewelry making in this five-week lost wax casting course in Edmonton. This hands-on class introduces students to wax carving as a creative and versatile approach to designing one-of-a-kind jewelry. Working with jeweler’s wax, you’ll experiment with both additive and subtractive techniques to develop detailed forms while creating your own ring and pendant designs in a supportive studio environment.

Under the guidance of an experienced instructor, you’ll learn how to carve, shape, and texture wax using hand tools and the flex shaft. The course also covers cuttlefish casting, casting organics and stone in place casting. Students are introduced to the fundamentals of metal casting and finishing, with the opportunity to cast each class to bring their designs to life.

This Edmonton jewelry course emphasizes creativity and thoughtful design, making it well suited for beginners as well as those looking to expand their metalsmithing skills. Clear demonstrations, hands-on practice, and small class sizes ensure individual support throughout the five-week session.

By the end of the course, you’ll leave with a finished metal jewelry piece and a strong foundation in lost wax casting from concept through completion.
